The Kitchen Is More Than Just Another Room

309 Center Dr. – Hampstead

A mother in law suite made from an old catering kitchen. The kitchen we added for the suit was a kitchenette, something that truly helps a space open up. We built a bathroom, new closet and kitchenette for the reused space. The project wouldn’t have been possible without the mind of our designer. It was a great experience completing this project for our clients in Hampstead.

Most rooms in a home serve a single purpose. Bedrooms are for sleeping. Bathrooms are for getting ready in the morning and winding down at night.

The kitchen is different.

It’s often where families gather before school, where friends stand around during parties, where homework gets finished, and where conversations happen long after dinner is over.

Because the kitchen serves so many purposes, small design mistakes tend to become noticeable very quickly.

For example, a kitchen may have beautiful cabinets but not enough storage. Another may have a large island that looks impressive but creates a bottleneck when multiple people are trying to move through the room. Sometimes appliances are placed in locations that seem fine on paper but become frustrating during everyday use.

These are the types of issues a kitchen designer helps identify before construction begins.
